Northport Baptist Church

The Northport Baptist Church's Junior High Youth Group (The Edge) is looking to fulfill two of God's five purposes* for HIs followers through monthly service activities called "m&m's".

The name "m&m's" is an achronism for ministry and missions. Ministry is "in-reach" (service to the body of believers) whereas missions is "out-reach" (service to the community of the yet-to-be-saved).

It is our goal to engage our youth in service projects where they can feel the joy and fulfillment of being used by God to enrich someone else's life.

* The five purposes are those proposed by author/Pastor Rick warren in his book The Purpose Driven Life. They are worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and missions. The first three are practiced regularly by our youth every Wednesday night.

Are you going into 6th, 7th or 9th grade?

If so, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your parents to join us for our Moving Up Orientation Nights.  If you are in 6th or 7th grade, join us at 5:45 on Wesdnesday, September 10th for pizza in the gym and an introduction to youth group.  Afterwards, you and your family are invited to join us at 7PM for the Edge Service.  This will give you a front row seat to check out what our ministry to middle school students is all about.  Come find out how you can plug in this year. Please RSVP to Seth by September 7th.

If you are going into 9th grade, join us at 6:15PM on Friday, September 19th for pizza and a FUEL orientation in the Fellowship Hall. We even have a free gift that we'd like to give you! Afterwards, you and your family are invited to join us at the 7:30 FUEL service. This will give you an opportunity to check out what our ministry is all about. Please RSVP to Seth by September 17th.
