Of Jesus' 132 public appearances recorded in the Gospels, 122 of them occurred in the marketplace. In fact, 45 out of the 52-recorded parables of Jesus had a workplace context. Not to mention the fact that He called the Twelve from the workplace, not the clergy.
While He did some preaching in the synagogues and other gathering places, most of His outreach was where people worked - in the market places and in the every day routine of life.
The Workplace Outreach of ICC seeks to just that - to meet people in the midst of their every day lives - including and especially at work. The average person spends up to 50-70% of their waking times at work. While many people view their jobs as a drudgery, others pour their whole identities into "what they do" verses "who they are". In other words, work is their life.
God has a desire for our work-life that is quite different. To Him, our work is a holy calling - an opportunity to serve God and others (Colossians 3:23-24).
Indeed, it is the mission of ICC@work to equip people to model Christ at their place of work,to encourage Biblical decision making which fosters the highest standard of excellence, thereby being a positive influence to others for the Kingdom and bringing glory to God
The ministry is accomplished through small groups (both at church and off site), courses and seminars, and One-to-One Discipleship (by appointment)
