Coming up - a dynamic year of ministry for the women of our church and community here at Northport Baptist church. The overall theme for the year is "Wholeness in Christ." Below are the opportunities uniquely focused on women and their needs so that you can find a plae to plug in and grow in your faith!

Ladies' Bible Class

Fellowship Hall, 9:30-11 am Refreshments are served and nurseries are provided. This year's study, Wholeness in Christ will be based on the Gospel of Luke. Luke recongnizes the major role played by women in teh mission of Jesus. Step-by-step, Luke builds a picture of women as transformed, restored and greatly used in the remarkable story of redemption. Starting date is September 11th and we will follow the Northport-East Northport school calendar.

Women's Retreats

Plan to attend one of the retreats next winter. The theme will be Wholeness in Friendships. You can choose either Sandy Cove Conference Center in Northeast Maryland, February 1-3, 2008 or Keswick Retreat Center in Whiting, New Jersey, March 7-9, 2008. Mark your New Year calendar! Also in the works - one day retreats with special speakers. The registration form for Sandy Cove can be found below under the attachments.

New Moms Support Group

For mothers with new babies to one year. Groups form as needed. Call Ann if you'd like to participate.

Support Groups

* SOS (Sisters of Strength) - A program for women who have family members struggling with substance abuse.
* Grief Share* - A course for those struggling with the loss of a loved one who wish to receive God's help with the support of others.
* SAFEHAVEN* - A ministry that provides support for parents and caregivers of special needs children and adults, helping them to experience the joys and victories God intends for those raising a special needs loved one.
* Divorce Care* - A 13-week study of practical, personal and spiritual issues for persons who have experienced or are experiencing the trauma of divorce. This workshop is also relevant for persons curently involved in troubled marriages who are seeking to avoid divorce.

Senior Adult Bible Study*

On Thursdays at 11:00 AM, senior adults join together for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Bring a sandwich. Coffee, tea and desserts are provided. Start date - Thursday, September 13th.

College and Beyond*

Meet on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM, for all college students and young adults.
